Content Policy

TakeYourSide publishes structured public-interest cases for users to read, vote on, and compare aggregated results. This policy describes what kind of content is allowed on the platform and how sensitive material is handled.

Source-backed, moderated cases

Cases on TakeYourSide are generated or reviewed through editorial rules, automated systems, and moderation controls, and are presented with source-backed context. Each case is derived from publicly available sources and presented with a structured set of vote options. We do not adjudicate facts or issue verdicts; results reflect aggregated user perception.

What we do not allow

  • Illegal content. No content that is unlawful, facilitates illegal activity, or violates applicable platform policies.
  • Harassment. No targeted attacks against individuals or groups.
  • Hate content. No content that promotes hatred, dehumanization or violence against people based on protected attributes (race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, and similar).
  • Doxxing and personal data dumps. No publishing private addresses, phone numbers, financial details, or other personal data without consent.
  • Sexual exploitation. No sexual content involving minors. No non-consensual intimate imagery. No content that sexualizes or exploits vulnerable persons.
  • Defamatory accusations. No user-generated accusations of serious wrongdoing presented as fact. TakeYourSide is not a platform for users to publish personal accusations as fact. Editorial cases about ongoing allegations are clearly framed as allegations and sourced according to source, context, and public-interest criteria.
  • Manipulation. No coordinated activity to game voting, analytics, or moderation.

Sensitive content

Some cases involve sensitive subject matter (violence, abuse, geopolitical conflict). Sensitive cases may be:

  • Restricted from users below a certain age.
  • Held for manual review before publication.
  • Published with comments disabled or limited.
  • Edited, restricted, or removed if they fail editorial review.

No legal/factual verdicts, no campaigning, no advice

TakeYourSide does not provide legal findings, factual verdicts, political campaigning, financial advice, medical advice, investment recommendations, gambling services, or fundraising services. Results and analytics represent aggregated user perception and are intended for informational, research, and decision-support purposes.
