In Idaho, a federal judge has blocked a state law that would ban transgender individuals from using bathrooms matching their gender identity. The law faced opposition from civil liberties groups including the American Civil Liberties Union of Idaho, which argued the statute lacked clear standards for enforcement.

The Idaho Fraternal Order of Police and Chiefs of Police Association were among supporters of the law. The judge noted that "different officers could reasonably reach different conclusions regarding identical conduct" due to the statute's vagueness.

The case remains pending with further legal proceedings expected.
